Landing at HKIA and heading to Dongguan

Dongguan Xiangrui coach rental — owned 7-55 seat coach

Hong Kong Airport sits about 117 km from Dongguan by road: roughly 1.7 hours of driving for a car, before border clearance. Most HKIA-to-Dongguan transfers cross at Shenzhen Bay; late-night arrivals usually use Huanggang.

The awkward part of an airport pickup is not the drive. It is collecting everyone, keeping the luggage together and leaving the terminal in one movement. One vehicle carrying the whole group solves all three.

  • Dual-plate vehicles: no vehicle change — passengers clear on foot with their luggage at the crossing and rejoin the same vehicle
  • 13-21 passengers in a minibus; 22 and up in a 38-55 seat coach; larger groups run several vehicles together
  • Late-night and red-eye arrivals pre-booked, with the driver matched to your flight
  • Driver, fuel, tolls and vehicle insurance included; cross-border costs stated on the quote
  • Hong Kong-side addresses handled with a HK-licensed vehicle

Hong Kong Airport to Dongguan, in practice

Hong Kong Airport to Dongguan — times and distances

HKIA to Dongguan

About 117 km, roughly 1.7 hours of driving for a car, plus border clearance. The return leg to the airport uses the same route, so plan the departure time backwards from your flight.

HKIA to Shenzhen Bay / Huanggang

About 37 km to Shenzhen Bay and about 47 km to Huanggang, roughly 40-45 minutes each. These are the usual drop-off points before the mainland leg of a transfer, and the crossings most HKIA-to-Dongguan trips use.

HKIA to Zhuhai and Zhongshan (via HZMB)

About 60 km to the Zhuhai side of the HZMB bridge, roughly 1 hour. Bridge tolls and crossing costs are stated on the quote rather than folded into a per-kilometre rate.

HKIA to Guangzhou

About 154 km, roughly 2 hours of driving. For groups going further on the same day, say so when booking so the driving hours and rest breaks are planned in.

Why a coach takes longer than the map says

Coaches run at lower speed limits and long drives include driver rest time. Allow 1-2 hours more than the car figure when you build the day's programme.

Arrival pickup, step by step

Timing against the flight

Pickup is scheduled against your flight's actual landing time. Send the flight number and arrival date; the driver is matched to that flight, and a delay does not mean a missed car.

Where the driver meets you

The driver waits in the arrivals area at the agreed meeting point. For groups, one coordinator meets the group and leads them to the vehicle, so the party does not split up in the terminal.

Border formalities on the way

At the crossing, passengers step off with their luggage and clear on foot; the driver walks the group through and collects everyone on the other side, then the group rejoins the same vehicle.

Hong Kong-side drop-offs

Addresses inside Hong Kong (Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, West Kowloon rail station) are handled with a HK-licensed vehicle; the mainland leg is run by our dual-plate vehicles.

Landing at HKIA as a group

One vehicle, one clearance

For a group of 30, one coach clears once and delivers everyone to the same address. Splitting into 7-seat MPVs means separate pickups, separate clearances and luggage spread over several boots.

Factory visits and exhibition groups

If the group is coming in for factory visits, an exhibition at Pazhou or a school exchange, tell us the daily plan: the same coach can stay with the group across several days and the waiting time is inside the day rate.

Documents we ask for in advance

Passenger name list, flight numbers and luggage piece count. That is enough for us to match the vehicle and confirm the crossing plan in writing before you fly.

Questions we are asked before booking

How much is a transfer from Hong Kong Airport to Dongguan?
A 7-seat GD-HK dual-plate MPV starts at ¥1,400 per trip for Hong Kong Airport to Dongguan city; a 22-seat minibus starts at ¥1,150. Coaches from 38 to 55 seats are quoted per vehicle. Cross-border costs are stated on the quote. Send your flight, headcount and luggage pieces and you get a written quote within 1 hour.
How long does the drive take?
About 117 km, roughly 1.7 hours of driving for a car, plus border clearance. Coaches run at lower speed limits and long drives include driver rest, so allow 1-2 hours more than the car figure.
Do passengers have to get off at the border?
Yes. Passengers step off with their luggage and clear on foot, then rejoin the same vehicle; the driver walks the group through and picks everyone up after clearance.
Our flight lands at 01:30. Can you still pick us up?
Yes. Late-night and early-morning arrivals are pre-booked with the driver matched to your flight, so nobody is queuing for a car at that hour. Send the flight number and we schedule against its actual landing time.
What if the flight is delayed?
The driver works to your flight's actual landing time, not the scheduled time, so a delay does not mean a missed car. Waiting arrangements are confirmed with you before the trip.
We are 30 people with luggage. How many vehicles?
One 38-55 seat coach takes the whole group, with the luggage in the lower hold. Five 7-seat MPVs would mean five separate pickups at arrivals and the group split across vehicles.
What documents does the group need?
A Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau, or a passport with a valid visa or endorsement. Please check expiry dates and remaining entries before departure so nobody is stopped at the border.
Can you issue an invoice or receipt?
Yes. A written confirmation is issued before the trip, companies can pay by bank transfer, and a formal invoice is issued after the trip. Long-term clients can work under a service agreement.
