Three Stops, Two Cities, One Day: 4-Pax MPV Charter from a Dongguan Hotel to a Guangzhou Factory and Baiyun Airport

A four-person team needed a factory visit in Guangzhou's Huangpu district and a flight out of Guangzhou Baiyun the same evening. The booking was one vehicle for 12 hours: hotel in Chang'an, Dongguan → CVTE Fifth Industrial Park in Huangpu → Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. One 7-seat business MPV, driver, fuel, highway tolls and parking included, at a fixed rate agreed before the trip.

Most operators in this market sell airport transfers and city hire as separate legs. This job was booked as a day, and that is the part worth copying: three stops across two cities, one vehicle, one price, and the flight as the fixed point everything is built around.

1. Three stops across two cities with a flight at the end - so the day is built backwards.
Build it forward from the hotel and the last hour is whatever is left; build it backwards from the flight and the visit is the part that gets sized. The chain is: flight departure → check-in close → airport arrival → last hour at the factory → factory arrival → hotel departure. For an international departure out of Baiyun we plan the airport end around a three-hour buffer, because that is the one leg of the day that cannot slip.

2. The factory visit is the part nobody controls.
An industrial park visit in Huangpu runs through reception, a plant walk, a meeting and samples, and it can take twice as long as the calendar says. Priced per leg (hotel to factory, factory to airport), a long meeting becomes the client's problem, with the driver on the meter and the visitor watching the clock. A fixed 12-hour day absorbs it: the vehicle and the driver belong to the group for the day, waiting at the gate is included, and fuel, tolls and parking are already in the rate.

3. For a client booking from abroad, the price has to be finished before they board.
The enquiry came in English with Chinese addresses, and the driver navigates by the Chinese line - so both go on the confirmation, together with the flight number and the pick-up time taken from the flight. The rate is all-in: no tolls collected at the barrier, no parking paid to the driver at the airport, no "that address is further than we thought" on arrival. A quote that leaves tolls and parking open is not a quote, it is the start of a conversation at departures.

How this is priced - and why it is not priced per leg

One fixed rate for the day. 12 hours, one vehicle, one driver, with the waiting inside the itinerary. Splitting a three-stop day into three transfers means paying three times for the vehicle to come back, and it puts the risk of a long meeting on the visitor.

Published reference points. A 7-seat airport transfer to or from Baiyun starts at RMB 400; multi-stop days are quoted by the day with waiting inside the itinerary rather than by the kilometre. What is agreed before the trip: the 12-hour window and the stops inside it, the all-in rate, the deposit and the balance, and what happens if the day runs over. Overruns are quoted and agreed before they are used, never added at the airport.

How far ahead. 3-7 days is comfortable for a business MPV; lock the vehicle once the flight number and the factory slot are known.

One way, round trip, a full day or several days - all of them are quoted. The same route is priced to how the client actually travels: a single drop as a one-way, a drop and a later pick-up as a round trip (same vehicle and driver, usually less than two separate one-ways), several stops with long waits as a day charter, a multi-night stay by the day. We do not insist on one shape.

Hotel, factory and airport in one day: common questions

Can one 7-seat MPV take four passengers and their luggage?
Yes. Four passengers with a case each plus cabin bags fit comfortably in a 7-seat business MPV; the seats fold for luggage. Above four passengers with the same amount of luggage, the boot becomes the constraint and we move to a minibus.

How long is the drive from Chang'an in Dongguan to Huangpu in Guangzhou?
It is a cross-city run on the expressway, not a city hop, so the time depends on traffic at that hour. That is why the day is built backwards from the flight and the buffer is kept at the airport end rather than at the hotel end.

What happens if the factory visit takes longer than planned?
It is inside the 12 hours. The driver waits at the gate and the clock is not reset per leg - waiting, fuel, tolls and parking are already in the rate. Anything beyond the 12-hour window is quoted and agreed before it is used.

Is the airport drop-off part of the 12 hours?
Yes. The 12 hours cover hotel pick-up, the drive, the waiting at the factory, the drive to Guangzhou Baiyun and the drop-off. It is one vehicle for the day, not three separate transfers.

We land at Baiyun and need the reverse - airport, factory, hotel?
Same shape, same pricing basis: one vehicle for the day with the flight tracked. Send the flight number and we will set the pick-up from the actual landing time.

How do we pay from outside China?
A deposit confirms the vehicle; the balance is settled on the day. A receipt and an invoice are both available, and the all-in rate is agreed in writing before the trip so nothing is added at the airport.
